PNC Update

September 19, 2017 - In this season of gratitude and generosity, the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) would like to express its appreciation to the congregation, Session and staff of St. Peter’s.


We are so grateful to receive your prayers, referrals, and words of encouragement as we work and listen to discern God’s plan for our next Pastor/Head of Staff. At this stage, we have narrowed our search and feel we have an amazing list of candidates that we are actively evaluating.


We know that the selection process is a spiritual one, not just a logistical or hiring one. Each day, between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., our committee members set aside their routines for a few moments and lift up prayers for our church, for the next steps before our committee, and for the person (whoever that is) who will be St. Peter’s next Pastor/Head of Staff.


If you are able, we invite you to take a moment, wherever you are, during that time each day and pray for God’s continued blessings, guidance, and grace for our congregation and our committee.



February 15, 2017 - St. Peter’s Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) has been approved by Session and COM to post our Ministry Information Form (MIF) on the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) website. The committee has begun to receive and review Personal Information Forms (PIF). To view St. Peter’s MIF, click here.


December 13, 2016 - We are pleased to share that the Pastor Nominating Committee has reached its first major milestone with the completion of the Ministry Information Form. The MIF is the tool to search for a pastor within the Presbyterian community. The next step is to seek approval from Session and the Los Ranchos Presbytery Committee on Ministry.



St. Peter's PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) has met and elected officers. They are Maxine Verch - Moderator, Dennis Maron - Vice Moderator; Helen Nelson - Recording Secretary, Margot Backman - Asst. Secretary, Therese Terrill - Corresponding Secretary. Other members of the committee are Leroy Bell, Marleen Ruud, Bob Browning, and Blanche Kelner. Our COM Moderator is Rev. Kathy Sizer. The committee has also begun processing the necessary forms that are required. As they meet weekly, they ask for you to please continue to pray for the committee, the process, and the church.

Pastoral transition

During this season of pastoral transition, our hope is to keep those who are a part of the St. Peter's community as informed as possible. Transition Team - The Transition Team is tasked with working with Session to guide the church through our Three Phase Transition process. The team meets frequently and has spent a lot of time analyzing data and praying through next steps. Members: Interim Pastor Dave Rohde, Margot Backman, Leroy Bell, Bob Browning, Renny Nelson, Brenda Schisler, Zach Smith


Nominating Committee - Every year the Nominating Committee is responsbile for nominating Elders and Deacons for the following year. This year the Nominating Committee also has the task of nominating people to serve on the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC).
